new work: blue skies and books

blue skies

strengths that you haven't seen lined journal
For someone who wont be underestimated.
This book is made from a lovely red Nepalese Lokta paper with gold brushstrokes. It has a great texture and feel. This fabulous paper is handmade in Nepal. It features brown bookcloth on its spine.
***
Working on a new process of thinning paper
so that it is nearly see through
and can be used in mixed media pieces.

wanderer blank book
A book for the wanderer in all of us.

This hard backed book is covered from head to toe in a beautiful brown lace Toile Mexican Oilcloth, making it super durable. The extra durability is great if you are one, like I am, who is sometimes a little rough with things.

Oilcloth is a vinyl-type fabric that is waterproof, durable and completely wipe-able. The underside of the oilcloth is solid with a very thin white cotton webbing, which gives it its durability. Oilcloth is super easy to clean by just wiping with a damp cloth. This oilcloth was purchased from etsy shop oilclothshop.

A work in progress.

  2. i LOVE that last book you made for yourself! i'm not really a handy girl...and i envy the ability of you handmade artists to simply make whatever you want. no perusing a store, no shopping for just the right thing...you can just fabricate it yourself! i think that's amazing. and the yellow with the small white flowers in the corner is just beautiful!
